GANG ORGANIZATION RULES

Official criminal organization standards for Eververse — registration, turf, escalation, shootouts, and enforcement.

Back to all rules
Official criminal organizations must follow these standards. Gang roleplay is a privilege — storytelling and escalation take priority over winning conflicts.

Gang Registration

  • All official gangs must be approved by Government.
  • A gang must maintain a minimum of 5 active members.
  • A player may only belong to one official gang at a time.
  • No "sister gangs," "sub-gangs," or unofficial affiliates used to bypass member limits.
  • Gang leaders are responsible for the actions of their members while representing the gang.

Gang Identity

  • Each gang must have unique colors, branding, or identifiable clothing.
  • Gang colors must be clearly visible during gang-related activities.
  • Vehicle colors alone do not identify gang affiliation.
  • You may not initiate hostile actions solely because a vehicle matches a rival gang's color.

Gang Territory

  • Approved gangs may claim designated turf.
  • Turf ownership does not grant permission to randomly attack players.
  • Civilians may travel through gang territory without harassment.
  • Rival gang members entering your turf must be engaged through roleplay before any escalation.

Turf benefits

  • Drug distribution.
  • Recruitment opportunities.
  • Criminal influence.
  • Story-driven gang roleplay.

Turf restrictions

  • No claiming public robbery locations, heists, government buildings, or police facilities.
  • No "taxing" players without a valid roleplay reason.

Gang Conflict & Escalation

Eververse is a roleplay-first server. Conflict must always begin with roleplay before violence.

Valid reasons for gang conflict

  • Territory disputes.
  • Drug operations.
  • Theft of gang assets.
  • Betrayal.
  • Retaliation for previous actions.
  • Ongoing gang storylines.

Invalid reasons

  • "They looked suspicious."
  • "They drove through our area."
  • "They wear red."
  • OOC grudges.

Escalation requirements

Before deadly force:

  • Verbal confrontation.
  • Threats or demands.
  • Physical altercation or warning.
  • Deadly force if roleplay justifies it.

Staff may void any conflict deemed low-quality or lacking roleplay.

Retaliation Rules

  • Retaliation must occur within 48 hours of the triggering event.
  • Retaliation must be proportionate.
  • One successful retaliation concludes the incident.
  • Continuous back-and-forth attacks without roleplay progression are considered win mentality.

Retaliating after being robbed.

Retaliating after losing drug shipments.

Daily shootouts because “we are rivals.”

Repeated attacks after already winning the conflict.

Shootout Regulations

Gang vs gang

  • Maximum 6 vs 6.
  • All participants must be actively involved in the conflict storyline.
  • No third-party involvement.
  • No random allies joining ongoing gang wars.

Requirements

  • Clear roleplay interaction before shooting.
  • Visible gang identification.
  • Reasonable location away from major civilian areas.

Prohibited

  • Drive-by shootings.
  • Random shootings.
  • Spawn camping.
  • Ambushing players immediately after server restart.
  • Returning to active conflicts after being downed.

Kidnapping & Hostages

Gang members may kidnap individuals only when there is a strong roleplay reason.

Valid examples

  • Debt collection.
  • Information gathering.
  • Gang disputes.
  • Retaliation.

Invalid examples

  • Random kidnappings for entertainment.
  • Kidnapping new players.
  • Excessive torture roleplay.

Hostage rules

  • Hostages must be treated realistically.
  • Hostages must have opportunities for roleplay.
  • Permanent character death cannot be forced.

Criminal Businesses

Gangs may

  • Sell drugs.
  • Run protection rackets.
  • Launder money.
  • Operate fronts.

Gangs may not

  • Control every criminal activity in the city.
  • Prevent others from participating in server content.
  • Monopolize roleplay opportunities.

Law Enforcement Interactions

  • Gangs must value their lives.
  • Gangs may not suicide rush police.
  • Declaring war on law enforcement is prohibited.
  • Criminals should seek escape, negotiation, or survival rather than endless gunfights.

Police raids

If law enforcement successfully raids a gang operation:

  • Accept the outcome.
  • Create new roleplay opportunities.
  • Do not immediately seek revenge against officers without proper roleplay.

New Player Protection

New players should be introduced to criminal roleplay through interaction rather than victimization.

Gangs may not

  • Target new players repeatedly.
  • Force recruitment.
  • Rob or kidnap new players without strong roleplay justification.

Roleplay Quality Standards

Gang roleplay should focus on

  • Storytelling.
  • Character development.
  • Turf politics.
  • Alliances.
  • Rivalries.
  • Criminal enterprise.

Not

  • Constant shootouts.
  • Farming kills.
  • Win mentality.
  • OOC grudges.

The goal is to create memorable stories, not to “win.”

Gang Strike System

  • First offense: Verbal warning.
  • Second offense: Official gang warning.
  • Third offense: Gang strike.
  • Fourth offense: Probation and turf restrictions.
  • Fifth offense: Gang suspension or disbandment.

Management reserves the right to issue immediate strikes or suspensions for severe violations.

Business Ownership Restrictions

  • Gang Leaders and Underbosses are not permitted to own, manage, or operate any player-owned business.
  • Players holding the rank of Gang Leader or Underboss must choose between their criminal leadership role or their business ownership role.
  • Business ownership includes any position with direct control over business operations, finances, hiring, or management decisions.
  • Existing business owners who are promoted to Gang Leader or Underboss must step down from one of the positions within a reasonable timeframe determined by Management.
  • Attempting to use alternate characters, associates, or gang members as "proxy owners" to circumvent this rule is prohibited.

Reasoning

  • Prevent conflicts of interest between legal and illegal enterprises.
  • Promote realistic roleplay and separation of influence.
  • Encourage fair opportunities for both business owners and criminal organizations.
  • Maintain balance within the city's economy and criminal ecosystem.

You may be a member of a gang and own a business, but you may not hold a Gang Leader or Underboss position while owning or managing a player-owned business.

Business & Gang Separation

Any player who owns or manages a business while also being affiliated with a gang is required to keep the business and the gang completely separate at all times. A business is considered an independent entity and is not owned, controlled, or operated by any gang. Gang affiliation must not influence how the business is run or how its services are provided.

Strictly prohibited

  • Using a business to facilitate, conceal, or support any illegal gang activities.
  • Conducting illegal transactions, meetings, or operations within a legitimate business.
  • Allowing gang members to treat the business as gang property or a gang headquarters.

Nightclubs, bars, lounges & event venues

  • May naturally host gatherings attended by gang members.
  • Must remain neutral establishments open to the public.
  • May not be reserved exclusively for gang operations or used to conduct criminal activities.

Public-service businesses (restaurants, mechanic shops, dealerships, etc.)

  • May not be used for gang meetings, criminal planning, or illegal transactions.
  • May not be used for any activity that would reasonably compromise the legitimate operation of the business.

Business owners are expected to operate their establishments professionally and in accordance with server rules. Any attempt to use a legitimate business as a front for criminal or gang-related activities may result in staff action against both the business and the individuals involved.

Memory Wipe Policy

Memory wipe is only permitted when a gang member leaves a gang, in order to protect any gang information they were exposed to and give the former member a fresh start to their character's life.

  • Memory wipe may ONLY be requested by a player who is actively leaving a gang.
  • The sole purpose of a memory wipe is to protect gang information that the departing member would otherwise carry into civilian life.
  • Memory wipe does NOT form part of roleplay.
  • Using memory wipe for any reason other than a legitimate gang departure is strictly prohibited.

Any attempt to use memory wipe outside of this scope will not be tolerated and may result in staff action against the individuals involved.

Eververse Gang Philosophy

Gang roleplay is a privilege, not a right. Gangs are expected to create immersive criminal storylines that enhance the roleplay experience for the entire city. Storytelling, escalation, and character development will always take priority over winning conflicts or collecting bodies. Every gang should strive to create roleplay that is enjoyable for civilians, law enforcement, and rival organizations alike.
